The Southeastern Society (SESAF) is one of 33 multi-state/state societies that make up the national body known as the Society of American Foresters. SESAF is composed of professional foresters and forest technicians from the three state region of Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.

Since 1900, the Society of American Foresters has been dedicated to improving the health and productivity of America's forests. SAF provides information and networking opportunities to prepare its nearly 18,000 members for the challenges and the changes that face natural resource professionals.

45th Annual SAF/SFRC Spring Symposium: "Get Proactive in the Age of Disturbance" (pdf of flyer)
Sponsored by the UF/IFAS School of Forest Resources and Conservation and Florida Division Society of American Foresters, this year's Symposium explored the range of disturbances that are affecting forest health and management, and some of the proactive steps we can take to address these growing challenges. Agenda topics included an update on breeding efforts to improve disease resistance, proactive management for extreme drought, spatial analysis strategies, current and future insect challenges, and more. 2018 SESAF Annual Meeting: "Trees: Growing...Selling...Using"

The SESAF annual meeting was held January 28-30, 2018 at the Lodge and Spa at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia.
